My Photoshop keeps crashing when I open it. I wonder what could be causing it? After, 35 minutes of thinking and searching I fixed the very simple issue. Then I smacked myself, hard, to prevent such idiocy in the future.

PROBLEM = MY PHOTOSHOP CRASHES

My Photoshop is crashing! I’m sure a lot of us out there have many many screens and windows open at once while working on projects. One of those is usually Photoshop. So what do you do when it crashes, then everytime you open it, you get an error and it shuts down before it fully opens?

Well here is what my error looks like, yours may look different if you do not have Visual Studio Debugger running. But the error is irrelevant to me at this point. The error number changes every time it crashed ( I’m sure there is some relevance, but I’m not Adobe ).

I looked through many posts online as usual, some people said, re-install. Man I’m glad that I am not as nieve as I used to be, or else my life would have just gotten a little shorter while doing that. What a waste. Of course you start thinking what is the last thing that I changed since then. Duh. I added some fonts. Smack!!!! That’s right, I just hit myself.

HOW I FIXED IT = I REMOVED THE LAST FONTS I JUST INSTALLED.

I removed the fonts that I had just downloaded about an hour before. Voila, Presto, Chango. It works.

Please note: If you have installed fonts and your photoshop worked after restarting it, this probably will not fix your issue. So don’t go and remove all your fonts trying to get this to work.

Moral of this short story. If you download fonts, especially from FREE FONT SITES, like 1001freefonts.com, be careful to remember which ones you installed. You just may have to remove them fairly quickly.
